READ-A-THON

During the 2023 McKenny students read a total of 44,782 minutes, which is 746 hours!

Donations earned during the read-a-thon raised $6,136.17 for the school library, school software, and running club.

The annual Read-A-Thon begins this Saturday, October 28th. Read-A-Thon challenges students to raise funds for their school without selling anything, all they have to do is read! The Read-A-Thon is sponsored by the McKenny PTO and promotes our school’s goal for all students to develop a love for reading.

The money collected from will be used to support our school in the following ways:

  • New, inclusive, and diverse library books for the school library

  • Software licenses for interactive learning modules to support students’ learning experiences in the classroom

  • McKenny Running Club

  • And so much more!

Each student will get a pencil and mini “I Love Reading” button regardless of participation level.
