About PTO


What We Do

The mission of the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is to enrich the student experience at McKenny Elementary.  To achieve this, we build relationships within the school and community, volunteer our time at the school and in the classroom and support and organize programs and activities.

How We Raise Money

The McKenny PTO collects membership dues and sponsors fundraisers every school year.  For the 2009-2010 school year, we will raise money through catalog sales and a Fund Run.  Some of our past fundraisers include silent and live dinner auctions and read-a-thons. We also participate in “cash back programs” such as Box Tops for Education, Albertson’s Community Partners and eScrip.

How We Use Donations

Donations are used to support enrichment goals established by the PTO Board and voted on by the PTO membership.  Specific goals change from year to year but generally fall into the following categories:
